Getting Here & Parking

The Brighton Centre is in the heart of the city on Brighton seafront and easily accessible via public transport. Just a short walk from Brighton's main train station, Pool Valley Coach Station, multiple bus stops and taxi ranks. There are also cycle racks located at the front and rear of the venue.

We're trying to reduce our carbon footprint and we like to encourage customers to use public transport where possible.

If you are dropping off or picking up someone, we strongly advise you to decide on a meeting point a short walk from the venue. The roads around us can get very congested, particularly after shows.

As with most cities, parking in Brighton is at a premium. Please be aware that we do not have a venue car park. There are lots of options for car parking near the venue. Please find car park information here.

For customers who are Blue Badge holders there are lay-bys at the front and back of the venue where you can drop off or pick up but we would discourage parking in these areas as there is a 3 hour limit. Blue Badge regulations apply to other on-street parking, e.g. yellow lines. For more information about accessible parking in and around the venue please visit the city council’s dedicated web page where you will find a PDF that lists accessible bays in the city, the Brighton Centre is located in “Zone Z” and the closest bays are on West Street and Cannon Place. The closest accessible bays to the venue are in Churchill Square 1 car park, West Street BN1 2RU, on the ground floor opposite the rear entrance to the Brighton Centre on Russell Road but please note that charges are applicable.

We have put together Accessible Photo Routes to assist in planning your journey from our main transport hubs.

Our postal address is Brighton Centre, Kings Road, Brighton, BN1 2GR and you can check out further information about how to get here below.

When walking to the Brighton Centre we are easy to find - located on the seafront, Kings Road, and are easily reached from all directions.

The Brighton Centre is easily accessible by bicycle via the numerous cycle routes all over the city.

There is covered cycle parking available at the front and rear of the venue.

For more information or to plan your journey visit the city council cycling map website, where you will find maps and information on cycle parking.

You can also hire bikes via the Brighton Bike Share Scheme.

Buses run from all over the city and neighbouring towns and all lines have stops in the city centre where the Brighton Centre is located. Churchill Square shopping centre is where the majority of buses stop closest to the venue.

Directions from Churchill Square to the Brighton Centre: when exiting the bus you need to head east, if Churchill Square is in front of you turn left and if behind you turn right, towards the Clock Tower. When you reach the Clock Tower turn right and head down West Street, until you get to the seafront. The Brighton Centre is to the right and less than a minute walk and is situated on Kings Road.

All National Express coaches arrive into Brighton Coach Station (Pool Valley) which is situated just off the seafront; it is the final stop on your journey and is a 5 minute walk to the Brighton Centre.

Directions from Pool Valley to the Brighton Centre: Walk directly south out of the coach station heading south towards the sea and onto Kings Road. The Brighton Centre is to the right and around 5 minutes’ walk and is situated on Kings Road.

Brighton is served by direct rail links from many major central London stations and has frequent services from Portsmouth, Worthing, Lewes, Seaford, Eastbourne and Hastings.

For train times and prices visit the Southern Railway website.

Brighton Train Station is centrally located within a 10 minute walk of the Brighton Centre.

The Brighton Centre is to the right and less than a minute walk and is situated on Kings Road.

There is a taxi rank situated immediately outside the back of Brighton Station.

Information on parking is available above.

From London and the North the easiest way to get to Brighton is to connect via the M25 London orbital motorway.

The Brighton Centre is about 45 minutes once you leave the M25; leave the M25 at junction 7 southbound onto the M23, which later becomes A23 directly into Brighton. The road will continue through the City straight to Brighton Seafront where the Brighton Centre is located.

Brighton and its closest neighbours to the East and West are linked via the A27. This is the easiest route to Brighton from both directions. Leave the A27 via the A23 ramp (signposted Brighton), take the 3rd exit on the first roundabout and 1st exit on the second roundabout, this will join you onto the A23 / London Road directly into Brighton. The road will continue through the City straight to Brighton Seafront where the Brighton Centre is located.

Taxis that you can hail are easily identifiable by the aqua and white livery, they can be booked in advance or can be picked up from the various ranks around the City, the closest to the Brighton Centre is at the bottom of West Street outside the Odeon Cinema. Private Hire vehicles are also available but will not stop if you try and hail them.

Food & Drink

The food outlets within the venue have a range of grab n go outlets available for live events. All of our menu options are handmade onsite by our team of chefs.

Classic snacks such as nachos, dough balls, loaded fries and pizzas are available throughout the event calendar. Seasonal specials can include quesadillas, Bahn mi and Bombay baskets for tasty Indian snacks. Keep your eye out for our latest menu meze snack cones which can be enjoyed with a tipple of your choice.

Bars are available throughout the venue along with local pop ups such as Pinup Brewery which is available for certain events. Café outlets are open should you prefer a coffee roasted by our local supplier Milk Shed.

There are no plastic bottles, straws or cutlery used in onsite. Instead offering bamboo, paper or wood products. Our last item to eradicate from our business is single use plastic cups. We have been researching various solutions with the mission to create a 360 degree solution. The plan is to implement this over in 2025.

Seasoned, our catering partner is committed to becoming a BCORP company and currently in the process of working towards the accreditation. B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. We aim to have achieved this accreditation by 2026.

Please note that we operate a 'Challenge 25' policy at all of our outlets. This applies to all events. So if you're lucky enough to look under the age of 25 please make sure you bring some ID along with you and don't be offended if we ask to see it.

In the interest of health & safety we may be required to decant our canned drinks into plastic cups at the request of the event promoter.

Opening times and availability of all outlets are dictated by the type of event. As a general rule, bars will be open before a seated concert and then again in the interval, and for standing concerts the bars will open before a show and remain open for the duration.

No food or beverages should be brought into the venue; these will be removed on search and confiscated but should you require the items for medical reasons please make this known to the security personnel on the front door who will contact the Duty Manager to discuss this in private.

For transaction information at our catering outlets please see the Ways to Pay section.

If you have any specific questions regarding your visit please contact us.

Security

We take the safety and security of all customers, visitors and staff very seriously, and work closely with Sussex Police, our industry colleagues and members of the security services to ensure the highest standards of safety are met.

Rest assured there are the security measures you can see and ones you can’t. We monitor the venue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and our staff are trained to ensure everyone who visits us has a safe and happy time. If you see something that seems suspicious or makes you feel uncomfortable please report it to the Duty Manager immediately, via a member of staff.

When coming to the Brighton Centre, please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to pass through our security checks.

Bag Policy
Ideally, we’d like it if you didn’t bring a bag at all and please be aware that we will not allow large bags into the venue. You will be permitted to bring small bags and handbags in with you. We class small bags as no larger than 21cm x 30cm x 19cm (max. A4 in size).

Please be aware that if you arrive with what we would consider to be a large bag or excessive baggage you will be redirected to the back entrance of the venue where your item/s will either be submitted for a full search or you will be declined entry. If your large bag is permitted you will not be able to keep it on your person, a £3 fee will be charged to store it, and venue staff will advise where you can collect it at the end of the event.

Searching Policy
As per our Conditions of Sale we reserve the right to search customers at the venue; this is done to ensure the safety of those attending events. If you don’t want us to see it / confiscate it / reject entry – don’t bring things we might not be happy to find*.

Please be aware that we use both male and female security staff to conduct searches, if you have a preference as to who you would like to be searched by please let a member of staff know.

If you decline to be searched we have the right to refuse entry to any of our events.

*including but not limited to: cans, bottles (including reusable water bottles), alcohol, food, illegal substances, offensive weapons, fireworks, flares, lasers, glow sticks, banners larger than A3**, dangerous or hazardous items.

** Please check with the venue on the day of the event as promoters may ban all posters, depending on specific circumstances.

Entering the Brighton Centre
When you arrive at the Brighton Centre you will be required to go through a security check and we ask you to follow these simple steps as you approach the venue to help us speed up the process:

Dispose of any food or drink as these will not be permitted into the venue, unless they are for medical reasons.

If you are carrying a bag of any kind, please join the bag search queue, if not, please join the main queue.

If you have access requirements, cannot stand for too long or require assistance please make yourself known to a member of staff who will take you through a fast track security check.

Make sure your ticket is ready, and step forward to be scanned when a member of the team calls you up. If you are carrying a bag please place it on the search table when instructed to do so.

Once this process has been completed, you’re good to go and enjoy the show!

One last thing; we ask that you please treat our security and stewarding staff with respect and patience; it’s a hard job and they are there for your safety so please cooperate fully with all security checks. If you decline to be searched or are uncooperative in any way, we have the right to refuse entry to any of our events.

We hope this has given you all the information you need and puts your mind at rest about security measures in our building. If you have further questions please check out our FAQs or alternatively you can contact us.

Age Restrictions & ID

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_age-restrictions-id

Some live entertainment, particularly standing music gigs and comedy shows, have age restrictions in place (such as parental guidance advised due to adult language used) and we ask that you read all the specific event details on the relevant page prior to booking tickets.

The following age restrictions are always in place at the venue:

No one under the age of 14 years is to attend an event at the Brighton Centre without appropriate adult supervision

No one under the age of 14 years will be admitted into the standing area (when in use)

No one under the age of 16 years will be admitted into the VIP boxes without appropriate adult supervision

An adult is classed as aged 18 years or over

As a general rule, children under the age of 18 months* (at the time of the event) will not need a separate ticket and must sit on the lap of their responsible adult. Please always ensure your child has suitable ear protection available if attending an event as the sound levels in the main auditorium can be very loud.

*Subject to change. Please refer to the specific event page or contact us for clarification.

Anyone who looks to be under the age of 25 years may be challenged to prove their age when buying alcohol as the venue operates a Challenge 25 policy.

If you are under 18 you are committing a criminal offence if you attempt to buy alcohol and you may be ejected without a refund or held until a responsible adult can come and collect you.

What ID will you accept?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_what-id-will-you-accept

Accepted forms of ID are a Driver’s Licence (full or provisional), a Passport (valid) or PASS Card with the pass hologram.

Any ID found to be fraudulent will be confiscated and passed to Sussex Police.

I am 14 and have a standing ticket but no ID, what should I do?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_i-am-14-and-have-a-standing-ticket-but-no-id-what-should-i-do

Customers who appear to look under the age of 14 years that arrive at a live music concert with a standing ticket and cannot prove they are 14 years or over may be refused entry.

If you do not have photographic ID as listed in the section above we strongly advise you bring as much proof of name, age and address as possible, it will then be the Duty Manager who represents the license in force on the day who will make the decision to admit you to the premises in line with the statutory duties for which they are responsible.

If you are nervous about bringing your ID, such as your Passport, to a concert we will accept a clear photo taken on your phone, though please note should the photo not be clear or seems to be photoshopped and / or edited you may be refused entry.

A responsible guardian will be called to collect you if a decision is made that you are under the age of 14. No refund will be given in this instance.

Artist / Band

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_artist-band

It’s my birthday / a special anniversary – will they mention me on stage?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_it-s-my-birthday-a-special-anniversary-will-they-mention-me-on-stage

We aren't able to arrange these requests and have no direct access to the artists.

If you email your request to brightoncentre@brighton-hove.gov.uk we will do our best to pass it on to the tour manager of the show you'll be attending.

You may wish to instead direct your request straight to the artist via social media.

Can I meet the band/artist?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_can-i-meet-the-bandartist

Unfortunately, we, the venue, are unable to accommodate these requests. Meet and greet packages are arranged by the promoter of the event and tickets may be available to buy online or via the artist directly, if a package is in place.

If you have a request for an artist appearing at a live show at the venue, please email it to brightoncentre@brighton-hove.gov.uk and it will be passed on to the promoter.

Bag Searches

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_bag-searches

As per our Conditions of Sale we reserve the right to search customers at the venue; this is done to ensure the safety of those attending events. If you don’t want us to see it / confiscate it / reject entry – don’t bring things we might not be happy to find*.

If you decline to be searched we have the right to refuse entry to any of our events.

Please also ensure you take 5 minutes to read and understand our security policy; particularly around the size of bags that will be permitted into the venue as this has recently been updated.

*including but not limited to: cans, bottles (including reusable water bottles), alcohol, food, illegal substances, offensive weapons, fireworks, flares, lasers, glow sticks, banners larger than A3**, dangerous or hazardous items.

** Please check with the venue on the day of the gig as promoters may ban all posters, depending on specific circumstances

Camera Policy

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_camera-policy

Audio and video recording cameras are prohibited. If your camera has a detachable lens you will not be allowed to bring it into the auditorium. Small cameras and camera phones (not tablets) are acceptable, unless the artist/promoter requests that all cameras are banned during a particular live show. In this case it will state this on our in-house screens and a cloakroom will be provided for your use on-site.

Charity Requests & Raffle Prizes

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_charity-requests-raffle-prizes

We receive a large amount of requests for charity prizes but unfortunately we sell tickets on behalf of promoters and artists. This means that we don't actually own the tickets we sell and therefore they're not ours to donate. If this is something you're hoping to organise we’d advise contacting the promoter or artist directly.

Children & Parents

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_children-parents

We think bringing children to entertainment events is to be encouraged when appropriate, but we do ask that you use suitable ear protection for children as it can get very loud in the auditorium. Not only can this be a bit scary for them but prolonged exposure to high noise levels can damage young ears.

No one under the age of 14 years is to attend an event at the Brighton Centre without appropriate adult supervision.

Are there baby changing facilities?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_are-there-baby-changing-facilities

There is a baby changing facility located in the ground floor foyer, adjacent to the female toilets. The entrance is external to the toilet facilities and can be used by both parents.

Can I bring a buggy to the venue?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_can-i-bring-a-buggy-to-the-venue

Unattended buggy parks are provided at various events and buggies can be left at your own risk.  If a cloakroom is available buggies can be left with the cloakroom staff.

Can parents wait inside the venue without a ticket?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_can-parents-wait-inside-the-venue-without-a-ticket

We will always try and provide a place in the venue for parents to wait for their children, however, it is driven by availability and depends on the nature of the event.

Cloakroom

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_cloakroom

There is a cloakroom available for standing shows and occasionally other events. It’s usually located in the ground floor foyer and costs £3 per item.

Why can’t I take food or hot drinks into the auditorium?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_why-can-t-i-take-food-or-hot-drinks-into-the-auditorium

Generally, it is okay to take cold drinks and confectionery into the auditorium, but glass, crockery, hot food or hot drinks are not permitted. The rules are based on consideration for other people (smell of hot food) or for safety reasons, and sometimes it is at the request of the artist. For some events, an alcoholic drink may be taken in at the start, but cannot be replenished during the event, again, for the consideration of those around you.

At some shows, particularly standing gigs, can should be opened before admission or fully decanted from the can they were purchased in; this is to reduce the risk of them becoming rolling trip hazards, or used as missiles.

Look out for notices on our in-house screens and do ask a member of staff working on the night for advice.

Can I bring my own food and drink into the building?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_can-i-bring-my-own-food-and-drink-into-the-building

No cans, bottles, alcohol or food will be allowed into the venue and only food and drink purchased on the premises may be consumed in the venue.

We welcome attendees who need to bring medicines, food or drink to manage a medical condition. You are welcome to contact us in advance of your visit for advice, prior written acknowledgement from the venue of your requirement, or should you have any concerns or questions; you are also welcome to bring any supporting documents to the venue with you should you wish.

Our door staff are trained in our venue policy regarding understanding our policy for customers with medical requirements and understand that people may need to supply their own provision to self-manage their condition. If a member of door staff has any questions they will call a Duty Manager to discuss the matter in private.

Job Opportunities

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_job-opportunities

We are owned and operated by Brighton & Hove City Council and all our job opportunities will be listed on their main jobsite here: Jobs (brighton-hove.gov.uk) where you can set up alerts. You can only apply via the Council's main job site, we do not accept CVs directly to the venue. We will also post about new job opportunities on our social media channels and jobs page here.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer work experience opportunities.

Late Arrivals

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_late-arrivals

Entrances to the auditorium will close as and when the majority of customers are inside, but the front foyer entrance remains open throughout the event. The Event Box Office stays open until the main act goes on stage. If tickets are left for collection after this time, they will be left at the venue’s front entrance on Kings Road, with a member of our stewarding staff.

If you do arrive late for a live show, particularly comedy or theatre, stewards on the door to the auditorium may ask you to wait until an appropriate time in the performance before allowing you to take your seat.

We ask that you leave plenty of time to travel to and then enter the Brighton Centre, particularly as security checks are in place.

Lost Property

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_lost-property

All lost property found by our staff is handed in to the Brighton Centre Information Desk on the night and is logged. If you have lost an item at a show please check with the Information Desk before you leave on the night. Should your item not be handed in, the staff member will take your details or you can contact us in case it's found during the event clear up.

Many items are reunited with their owners. All unclaimed items that are suitable to be passed on are donated to local charities.

Merchandise

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_merchandise

Official Merchandise is only sold inside the venue during all our events. Please do not purchase merchandise from the hawkers outside as their products are not to a high standard and may lead to disappointment.

Parking

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_parking

We do not have our own car park nor are affiliated with any local car parks. There are many available around the Brighton Centre and rates vary depending on length and time of day. Further information on parking is available here.

Queuing

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_queuing

Some ticketholders arrive very early in order to queue outside, with the hope of getting to the front of the stage. We must advise that this does not give you priority above others into the venue and, in turn, the auditorium. Nor will it guarantee you a good spot at the front of the standing area.

We also strongly discourage any overnight queuing as we cannot ensure the safety of individuals camped outside of the venue, nor do we provide toilet/water facilities.

Sometimes queues become lengthy just before the doors open, particularly at the front entrance on Kings Road, so if the weather is a bit unpleasant (it can get very windy on the seafront here!) try heading to the back entrance on Russell Road.

Seats

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_seats

I can’t find my seat on the seating plan?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_i-can-t-find-my-seat-on-the-seating-plan

Seating plans are always subject to change and therefore every seat number is not included as the plans provided are only to be used as a guide.

Can I stand or dance in my seat?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_can-i-stand-or-dance-in-my-seat

At seated events or standing gigs where you have purchased in the seats, you are welcome to stand and dance in the area directly in front of your seat but we would ask that you be considerate to the enjoyment of other members of the audience who may not be standing or want to stand during the concert. If you are seen to be upsetting those around you a member of staff may ask you to sit down and we’d ask that you respect this request.

For health and safety purposes, you cannot stand or dance in aisles or stand on chairs.

Security

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_security

Please take 5 minutes to ensure you read and understand our security policy; particularly around the size of bags that will be permitted into the venue and what you cannot bring with you.

Show Times

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_show-times

On event days the Event Box Office will open 2.5hrs before the doors to the venue for support with ticket queries and collections.

Show running times will be listed on the event’s dedicated page and posted out via our social media channels, this will include the event box office, doors and curfew.

Doors to events usually open at 6.30pm and our curfew is 11:00pm but this is subject to change and it’s always best to check in advance.
Please note that sometimes we do not get this information until the day of the show and it is always subject to change.

Smoking Policy

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_smoking-policy

Smoking and vaping is not permitted in the Brighton Centre.

There is a dedicated enclosed smoking area which is usually accessible shortly after doors open on standing events. For seated events there is a smoking area but it is not enclosed. These are both at the front of the venue on Kings Road; customers are not able to exit at the back of the venue to smoke.

Please be aware if you appear to be under the age of 18 you may be asked for ID to enter the smoking area.

Those found to be smoking inside the venue may be ejected without a refund.

Sound Levels, Strobes & Smoke

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_sound-levels-strobes-smoke

WARNING – prolonged exposure to loud noise may cause damage to your hearing.

We have little part in the running of events when it comes to sound levels. This means that the sound for the vast majority of events is entirely in the hands of the tour staff.

They tour with their own sound and lighting systems and their engineers control them throughout the event. We do monitor both sound quality and decibel output and we will step in and advise where we think it necessary but will not be able to turn it down if you find it’s too loud.

Ear plugs are available on request should they be required.

If you have young children with you we advise using ear defenders rather than ear plugs, you’ll need to bring these with you as they are not provided by the venue. No one under the age of 14 years is to attend an event at the Brighton Centre without appropriate adult supervision.

Please be aware that some shows will contain strobe lighting, lazers or smoke effects. Signage will be up in the venue to advise you of this. Should you have any concerns, please speak to a member of staff on the night.

Sustainability & Recycling

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_sustainability-recycling

The Brighton Centre is committed to being a sustainable venue and improving the impact that we, and the events that we host, have on our local environment and the planet.

We are working hard behind the scenes to look into ways to improve our carbon footprint and aim to have removed the use of Single Use Plastics from 90% of events.

There are lots of other initiatives we have in place including working with a Zero to Landfill waste contractor, LED lighting is used throughout the venue, water-saving systems are in place in the toilets and our energy is purchased from renewable sources.

Alongside this we are looking further into our food offering onsite to ensure we are making available more vegan and local options. We also use wooden cutlery, palm leaf and cardboard food containers, and have not had plastic straws onsite since 2018 and we no longer sell drinks in single use plastic bottles.

Purchases from Life water at Brighton Centre have supported the building of wells in Africa, you can read further infomartion on the scheme here.

Our coffee from Milk Shed donate 1% of all sales.

As much as they love to roast coffee they don’t want to harm the planet and so are part of 1% for the planet. Globally, only 3% of philanthropic giving goes to environmental causes and that’s why 1% for the planet was established. It aims to encourage businesses to donate a minimum of 1% of their gross sales to help environmental non-profits.

Milk Shed also work with Raw Material, a social enterprise that imports coffee into the UK. 100% of their profit goes to coffee producers. They work with a growing network of smallholder farmers, alongside dedicated global coffee buyers to facilitate trade at stable, sustainable prices while improving coffee quality, yields, and community outcomes.

We know that time is short and that we need to act fast but we also need to ensure any decisions or changes we make are the right ones, not only for us but also for our customers, clients and the environment. We will get there and welcome your co-operation.

Do you recycle?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_do-you-recycle

Absolutely. We have recently changed our recycling contractor to ensure we are working on a Zero to Landfill contract and improved our behind-the-scenes operation. We have also replaced all our bins onsite to ensure it is clearer for our customers as to which bin they should be depositing their waste into.

We are looking to launch a new recycling campaign soon with clearer signage and additional bins available for high-impact events.

Behind the scenes we also recycle our food waste, which then produces a high quality compost material and a bio gas which is used as a heat source.

Why can't I bring in my reusable water bottle?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_why-cant-i-bring-in-my-reusable-water-bottle

For all events at the venue drinks will either be decanted (into a cup) or cans will be opened. This is industry standard because closed drinks receptacles have previously been used as projectiles (causing harm to both artists and audience members), they have caused slips, trips and falls when dropped in a crowd as a bottle with a lid or closed can is not crushable underfoot.

We are always looking at ways to make our water offering more sustainable. We have installed water fountains around the venue and the bars serve free tap water to customers. We have also recently changed from using single use plastic bottles to cans for our water and soft drinks.

Our current water partner is Life Water who are local and work with the Drop4Drop charity. Through our water purchases we have now helped towards two clean water projects. The first in the Kiguli Village, Uganda and the second of has just began in West Bengal, India.

Why do you use Single Use Plastic Cups? Why aren’t you using paper / compostable cups / reusable cups?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_why-do-you-use-single-use-plastic-cups-why-aren-t-you-using-paper-compostable-cups-reusable-cups

A large amount of research has been undertaken into our options around the cups we use and we have to take into account that they need to be crushable underfoot.

We have looked into our options around paper and compostables but considering the waste disposal and recycling facilities in the local area we currently feel that the plastic cups used are the best option as they can be, and are, recycled.

We are currently looking into our options around reusable cups. Before launching this we want to ensure that they are safe to use in areas like our balconies where there are steep steps and that we are able to clean them onsite, rather than having to transport them outside of the local area which would create a counterproductive situation by the production of vehicle emissions.

Why only 90% of events?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_why-only-90-of-events

We are working hard behind the scenes to look into ways to improve our carbon footprint and aim to have removed the use of Single Use Plastics from 90% of events  but for some performances, namely lively standing events, we have to consider the safety of our customers, staff and artists, and will need to ensure that everything that enters the main auditorium is decanted into a cup which is lightweight and completely crushable underfoot.

For these events, until a suitable alternative can be found – which we will continue to research - we will use our current plastic cups however, we will also ensure we have additional recycling bins available, including within the standing floor, to service the amount of waste being produced and improve the chances of it being disposed of correctly and therefore recycled.

How do I get information about shows coming up or access to presales?

https://brightoncentre.co.uk/your-visit#faqs_how-do-i-get-information-about-shows-coming-up-or-access-to-presales

Whether you're into music gigs, comedy acts, classical concerts, live theatre shows, exhibitions or good old fashioned family entertainment, you should sign up for information about upcoming events at the Brighton Centre; we'll also send you a monthly newsletter – please note that this facility is run by the Brighton Centre on Ticketmaster software.

We’d also advise you follow us on social media as we post out announcements, on sale dates and extra ticket releases on our social platforms too.

Presales are a little different, these are sent to people who have booked for the same artist before, or booked for a similar live show, at the Brighton Centre only (we don’t have access to customer data from other venues or ticket agents). One of the reasons for targeting certain groups of customers is to avoid "spamming" people with information which will not be of interest to them, and this decision is steered by the promoter.
