Maxi Priest, Aswad & The Marley Experience: Babylon By Bus
Two of the most iconic names in British reggae history unite for Babylon By Bus - a landmark co-headline tour bringing together the UK finest Maxi Priest and legendary band Aswad for a night of timeless roots and reggae greatness. Joining them as special support is The Marley Experience, the UK's best Bob Marley tribute act.
MAXI PRIEST
One of the most successful solo reggae artists, Maxi Priest, has spent four decades bridging reggae, R&B and pop with effortless style. His 1990 single "Close To You" hit Number One on the Billboard Hot 100, and Grammy-nominated collaborations with Shabba Ranks, Roberta Flack and Shaggy cemented his status as a true global crossover star. Across ten albums and stages from London's Royal Albert Hall to reggae festivals worldwide, Maxi Priest's music moves audiences of every generation.
ASWAD
With eighteen albums and five decades at the heart of Britain's music scene, Aswad are the undisputed pioneers of UK reggae. Formed in West London in 1974, they earned the admiration of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer - who called them the "Young Wailers." Their 1988 chart-topper "Don't Turn Around" conquered the UK and French radio, their Grammy-nominated Rise & Shine sold over 600,000 copies worldwide, and in 2000 they received the MOBO Award for Outstanding Contribution To Black Music. Still a major festival force, Aswad's legacy is as vital as ever.
THE MARLEY EXPERIENCE
Completing the night, The Marley Experience are the UK's number one Bob Marley tribute - delivering the authentic sound, look and spirit of Bob Marley & The Wailers. Fronted by Lionart, who has shared stages with Stephen Marley and David Rodigan, and backed by The Hailers - featuring Selecter’s drummer Charlie "Aitch" Bembridge - expect all the classics: "One Love," "No Woman No Cry," "Jamming," "I Shot The Sheriff" and many more.
